Students in Years 7 and 8 take part in a wide variety of subjects.
English, Mathematics, Science, Global Perspectives, Physical Education, Computer Science, Music, Art, Spanish, Mandarin and Technology are all subjects to be found on our Years 7 and 8 timetables. Specialist teachers trained in these subjects are used for each of these classes. We believe that this is important to ensure our students develop their knowledge and skills in preparation for their Cambridge examinations later in their school career. Our teachers work with the students to help them master the increased pace and high standards that are expected of them at these levels.
There is a very wide range of sports in which students can take part. Wentworth actively encourages all students to be involved in at least one sport every year. Most students compete in two or three sports out of the summer and winter sporting codes. Traditional sports are played with Netball, Hockey and Basketball, in particular, being very popular and competitive. However, students at all levels in the College enjoy being part of our Sailing and Rowing teams, and there is even a shooting range at the school!
Wentworth College also has a range of cultural co-curricular activities available for its students. These include the Chess Group, Debating, Dance Groups (such as ballet and pilates), a range of Musical Groups and an annual Drama Production. Again, all students are encouraged to take part.
